This short but rewarding safari starts directly from Zanzibar with a flight to Arusha. Over just two days, you will explore Tarangire National Park and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Tarangire is known for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees, while Ngorongoro offers one of the best opportunities to spot the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. Perfect for travelers with limited time, this tour combines the best of Tanzania’s Northern Circuit wildlife with round-trip flights from Zanzibar.

TOUR PLAN

DAY 1 – ZANZIBAR TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Transfer: Zanzibar hotel pick-up (around 5:00 am) to the airport, flight to Arusha (arrival approx. 9:20 am).
Program: Upon landing in Arusha, meet your guide and drive 2 hours to Tarangire. Game drive through landscapes of savanna, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, warthogs, and many bird species.
Activities: Game drive in Tarangire.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge (mid-range, outside Ngorongoro)
Meals: Lunch and dinner included (drinks included except spirits/liquor).

DAY 2 – NGORONGORO CRATER TO ZANZIBAR

Program: Early morning departure (5:00 am) with packed breakfast and lunch. Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a 5-hour game drive. The crater is home to lions, elephants, hippos, wildebeests, buffalo, and with luck, the black rhino. After the game drive, return to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
Activities: Ngorongoro Crater game drive.
Accommodation: None (end of tour).
